Cops, Parks, and Roads are not socialism.
Public investments and services are not socialism at all. Having some critical services that the private market cannot effectively provide be run by government is not socialism. The private for profit model doesn't work for police and fire service, but that doesn't make them "socialism". Socialism would be if government nationalized and ran the oil industry, cell phone companies, media outlets, steel mills, and auto manufacturers. Socialism is central planning, national production targets, and price and wage controls. Confusing the two (public investment / services and socialism) is what might cost the democrats the white house in 2020. Most people who like AOC and Bernie Sanders don't really want socialism, and trying to reclaim that word by putting "democratic" in front of it only plays into Republican partisan fear monger and framing
Cops, Parks, and Roads are not socialism. Neither is raising taxes and the minimum wage. Neither if making public college free, and for that matter, and for that matter neither does supporting Medicare for all.
